Service Phase

The key infrastructural elements during the service phase include in-class consultations and presentations, ad hoc student-POR contact, service propositions and formative POR feedback, and a report-back celebration of the best projects.

In-Class Presentations and Consultations and Ad Hoc Student-POR Contact

Students make interim and final in-class oral project presentations. Normally, instructors also arrange two or three in-class project consultations across the semester. During these meetings, the instructor, POR, and OSL field coordinator rotate among the student teams to discuss project-related issues. Teams are expected to maintain close contact with their respective POR outside the classroom, and besides telephone or e-communication, they typically initiate special consultation meetings with him or her.
